Back to Uni - freshers and bird feeding!
Today was my second day back at uni :) ! I still don't know the result of my appeal yet so I don't have my timetable... but I'm trying to carry on with my first week here as normal regardless since I was fooled by a mistyped email... it's actually really fun to be back!
Of course I like all the learning and projects I do at university, I love my course, but I do also really enjoy the social aspect and having reasons to go outside (not that you need a reason to go outside but it helps me go outside more via assigned 'tasks').
Today I woke up at around 6:45am and got ready by 7:45am to get the bus to campus!! I had to get to campus early so I could print out leaflets I had designed to help advertise one of my activist organisations, but I had a few issues with printing them out... at first it was me using a faulty printer that didn't show the documents I'd send to it so I ended up sending 50 copies x 4 to the printer, and then I found out I did not have enough printer credits to even print off 50 copies of my double-sided coloured leaflets... as expected... so I printed off 30 first but then ..! I found out they had misprinted and no matter what one of the sides would be upside down in reference to the other side! So I wasn't able to fold those leaflets properly but they're still useable and readable, just not intuitive and unprofessional 3. I did end up printing them correctly but by that time I only had enough credits to print 6 leaflets so now we only have 6 normal leaflets... oopsie :(. Turns out I didn't even need to rush to print them because literally no one else was coming because we didn't have enough capacity for our stall for freshers fair so we've delayed it until tomorrow's fair...!
Anyways, after I printed out the leaflets I rushed over to man the freshers stall for my student society! I was trying to come up with the most quick and effective script to explain our society to people without them having to stand and listen for ages but I kept changing it up each time because I'd get both a bit nervous and a bit excited... since it's about volunteering, raising awareness, fundraising for charities (although I am actually much more in favour of mutual aid and mainly participate in mutual aid projects), etc. We had a pretty decent amount of people interested and signing up which is great!! Promoted my activist groups a bit too haha if someone mentioned protests at our stall... let’s do DA together… (in the format of the 'Let’s take Ibuprofen together' meme). While doing my shifts I also met so many new and lovely people :3, even some fellow j-fashion people!! Super awesome!! So excited to talk to everyone I met today a bit more!
I also did some unauthorised leafleting for the staff union that is going on strike since they aren't allowed to but as a student I can :P. Good luck to all the professors going on strike, they have my full support. I think it is so evil that institutions such as universities send out emails wording strikes as an action that does not benefit students and attempts to build contempt in students towards staff, pitting students against staff, when staff strikes, both surrounding pay and redundancies quite obviously affect the students too. Students' courses would not exist if staff and departments are made redundant! Students won't have teachers if teachers continue getting low pay! Everyone needs to eat and be able to pay for their basic necessities (which I think should all be free and a right to have...), these money hungry elitist institutions remain disingenuous as ever!
After all my shifts were done with I took a break and walked around and spotted my friend 'Dove'!! I had a nice time chatting with my friend and we even made a new friend together _ who complimented our outfits! I took my friend into freshers fair by using my committee privilege to skip the queue teehee. I saw so many people I hadn't seen in so so long (because I was literally banned from campus) and it was so great catching up and seeing them again. I saw 'Bird' and it was so awesome because my friend 'Dove' knew them too and we briefly talked about going bird feeding / watching together sometime :D. After we went around we went to get some much needed bubble tea... sweet treat to heal the mind and heart... while I waited to get my keffiyeh back from my committee-mates when they planned on packing up the stall >_<. I got another person's socials while getting bubble tea.
It was time to go feed the birds with my friend...! The route to the river where a lot of birds congregate is through another university that is much cooler than ours and it turns out they had a trading card store... right on their university campus !? They opened two days ago...!!! I went in and the selection was cool but a bit small and lacking in Digimon, and this was the first time where asking at the counter whether they had any Digimon card packs actually paid off because they opened a box of Sinister Order EX-10 for me to buy some packs ToT!! Turns out the guy at the counter also liked Digimon and his favourite Digimon is SkullGreymon... fire... sooo fire... he also asked me if I had watched the new Demon Slayer movie, making him the second person of the day to ask me this LOL. I might actually have to go now.
I pulled Belphemon: Sleep Mode EX10-021, Baalmon EX10-050, and Wizardmon EX10-041 from the packs!

Special focus on Wizardmon because Wizardmon is one of my favourites ever…

After shopping for seeds and frozen peas we could finally go feed the birds !! Of course, while feeding the pigeons I had to check for any pigeons with stringfoot that needed help. Thankfully, there were none today! I'm happy to know that flock of pigeons did not have any pigeons with stringfoot.
Here are some pictures of my sweet friend Dove in her super duper cute outfit feeding the birds :D !!

She is so magical and she even got the pigeons eating out of her hand :3.

I also met a very polite goose that would stand patiently in front of me for food! We had a nice chat and I fed it and it was happy >_<. It was very charming that it was so polite but even if it did angrily honk at me I'd still love it.

Look… we’re even matching colours / outfits… clearly, I dress to impress the Canadian geese of the UK rivers. My boyfriend said I’m 2 geese tall!!
I did have the strange experience of some strangers seemingly recording me from a bridge though… quite rude to do without my consent but oh well…
The day got even better because we made another friend! Turns out she just moved to the UK to study law because UK law degree is recognised in around 120 countries so she can get a job in many places including her own, which is interesting! She joined us in feeding the birds a bit and it was super sweet. The most tickling part was finding out that she's a communist and reads political and philosophical books such as Marx and Aristotle... we are so chill. When prompted about recommendations she said 'The Motorcycle Diaries' by Che Guevara which I've noted down! I do know of Che Guevara, I just haven't read his works yet. I'll get to it eventually.
Before leaving, we saw this pigeon with a little down feather on its head that made it look like a bit of an old man… stylish

After a bit me and my friend finally started heading back, at this point I was so exhausted but it was an overall good day :]. Chatted with my boyfriend, showered, and hopped straight into bed... snnnzzz...
