Sunkiss Vkei Night

The only 'group photo' I managed to get... we were all so cute!

I was so excited because this was my second ever jfashion event I think..!! I didn't get to attend any last year except for a jfashion meets UK sanrio picnic. It was a Sunkiss (gyaru store) anniversary club night event hosted in Sheffield with the help of Vkei night.

I went with Prince, Nin, Sanaa, and Miles! Wey and Bambi couldn't come :(.

Everyone was dressed in black/white/grey coords except for me (I was not aware of this) so it felt a bit silly :p.

I didn't like my coord at first but as the day went on I actually ended up really liking it and I got loads of compliments on it!!

Neapolitan themed... the skirt is an old school Baby the Stars Shine Bright piece!

When we arrived at Sheffield station we for some reason decided this fish statue was the best thing we've ever seen and the star of the show in Sheffield so we took a ridiculous amount of photos with it LOL... this is just two out of many photos we took.

After we were done with the fish statue we decided to first make our way to Red Brick Market, I definitely wanted to finally visit the Sunkiss store here!! But on our way there we got stopped by a small pop up market that invited us in and it was so awesome!! Lots of cool independent small artists and designers. I wish I took some pictures of the interior of some of the rooms because they were so cool honestly!! I need to remember to take pictures of places more in general, I used to do it so often too

I bought a few things from stalls!

On the left, I bought this steampunk fish keychain as a gift for my friend Akira! On the right, I bought these two badges from RagTag.RatBag. I had quite a lovely conversation with the artist and their unique artwork, they're an anti-capitalist and antifascist artist too. I had to buy the pronoun badge because it's a green apple with pronouns on it. Me af.

Trio mirror selfie!!

We also ran into this man who introduced himself as David Saxby and said he was quite well-known here and his sons are quite well-known too and he owns various vintage stores in the UK and in Shanghai too apparently. He took out his guitar to sing Japanese and Chinese songs to us which was cool :). He just kept going on and on and talking non-stop which would be fine if we weren't kinda low on time, so we had to cut the conversation short but it's always fun to talk to people and make connections. I got his WeChat lol haha I haven't messaged him yet but I want to at some point.

Red Brick Market !! Ft. my friends <3

I wish I took more pictures of the various cute stalls here honestly but I did take a few of one of the SunKiss stores.

I bought this cute cream and floral Liz Lisa top, very himekaji and roma gyaru!! I saw this same top being listed on Mercari for £130 when I bought this for £30 at Sunkiss it's crazy...

I kinda wish I bought a CD now too but I think CD collecting is a hobby for older employed Yue and not current Yue >_<.

I also saw these insect bags that were surprisingly only £20!! I thought they'd be pricier... I didn't get one though as I was saving money ><.

After a successful Red Brick Market trip we went to eat dinner at a Korean restaurant, we ordered some mains as well as a shared KBBQ platter. This BBQ made me discover that I actually do like beef when it's cooked super tendered and sauced super good... short ribs so tasty... wow...

I also got a seafood tofu stew and it came served with rice! It was really good. I forgot what everyone else got... but they were all variations of seafood something... and we also got seafood tteokbokki to share!

When we got the bill we decided to play a guessing game. Whoever guesses closest to the bill price gets free Boba from the losers. Me and Miles guessed the same number and we both WON LOL. THE EXACT NUMBER TOO. Unfortunately I didn't choose a good flavour because I forgot I don't enjoy iced lemon tea all that much... idiot... and most of the drink was just ice...weh... but it's okay. After getting boba we went into this little grocery store where we ran into other jfashion girls who were also going to Sunkiss Vkei Night !! This was when I met Bunny, who goes to UOM and knows Maria and Pragya !! Small world... after seeing Bunny at the night later we actually agreed to meet up again to hang out in Manchester with Pragya and Maria too :D (future Yue here... this came to fruition ... mwehehe...) I vowed to follow up on that plan, #socialmaxxing. Isn't it so sad that a lot of possible plans just end up collecting dust and never coming to life... people often don't follow up but I've decided to change that. I'm going to follow up on every plan that I feel enthusiastic about and think could be awesome...

We saw this in the store. Lemon duck shit flavoured cookies.

Also these prawn crackers that had these cute mascots on them that are literally me and my boyfriend. Especially the green and pink bunny, that's me...

We walked to a Wetherspoons in the cold rain and they took my iced tea away from me. Wtf. I started to feel like shit at this point because ... so I just took some time in the bathroom to recuperate. More like vent a little bit to AYA... shoutout to Ali and Akira for always being there for me and understanding of me for real. I knew going to the event would help me feel better even though I was pretty exhausted at this point...

Me and Miles arrived at Wetherspoons for pre-drinks, filmed him unboxing a MUCC CD he got at Sunkiss.

THE EVENT WAS SO FUN AND AWESOME. I'm so sad I couldn't stay the whole night for the rest of the performances but the ones I did see were pretty cool! I wish I got to hear Clark Rainbow live... maybe next time...
